Four housemates will face eviction from the ninth series of Big Brother after failing a secret task.
Though he entered the house with girlfriend Lisa Appleton, 40, 42-year-old Mario Marconi was told he had to pretend he and Stephanie McMichael, 19, were a couple despite having just met.
Mario and Steph - along with Lisa and Luke Marsden, 20 - had the chance to avoid eviction if they managed to convince the 12 housemates unaware of the ruse that they were a genuine couple.
But after staging a fake wedding, the other housemates managed to uncover the plot and will now avoid the public vote as the conniving quartet face eviction.
After a wedding breakfast, the voice of Big Brother interrupted the housemates to announce: "The wedding is now over. Big Brother has a very important announcement - there is a secret couple living in the house.
"Housemates have one minute to decide who they think those two housemates are," he added.
With Alexandra De-Gale having already called the apparent relationship between Mario and Steph a "sham", blind housemate Michael Hughes spoke up for the group after a minute's discussion to correctly pinpoint Mario and Lisa as the real couple.
While Mario and Lisa reacted happily at no longer having to hide their relationship, Luke blamed Steph for the foursome's failure.
Alexandra seemed to have uncovered the scheme during the 'ceremony', saying: "I think we all know how I feel. I contest."
She added: "I feel this is a sham. It's been given to us in a task format. I don't think it is a strong enough bond. It's a sham."
